Eton College Visit to Slough Mosque

We were pleased to welcome students from Eton College to Diamond Road mosque, Slough.  The 25 students are studying at GCSE level with 25% of their course based on Islam.  An excellent opportunity to learn about Islam and the origins of the local mosques we have in Slough.

They were greeted by the Chairman Mr Afzal and the trustees of the mosque and given a brief history and tour of the mosque itself along with the Slough community hall.

We are happy to welcome ALL to our mosques regardless of faith.

Child fostering Slough

A humble request to all Muslims

The UK government have agreed to take Syrian muslim orphans in the next 5-10 years, 6000 non-muslims have registered to take these children but only a few muslims have registered.

The process can take up to 6 months. The UK government will fund ALL costs. Whoever has the time, room or have no children or might know anyone who would be interested are desperately urged to register.

” with regard to the virtue of sponsoring orphans and the great reward for that, Muslim (2983) narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “The one who sponsors an orphan, whether it is a relative of his or not, he and I will be like these two in Paradise,” and Maalik pointed with his forefinger and middle finger.

Rohingya refugees donation

Slough Islamic Trust helped raise hundreds of thousands of pounds with support from the local community intending to deliver the aid to the refugees personally.   Our chairman, Mr Afzal has been working at the mosque for the last 50 years, and has involved himself in charity projects for much of that time.

The recent fundraiser is a sign of how Slough as a community can come together in times of need.

“I have been doing charity jobs since 1964. When you work honestly, people have faith their money is not being wasted.” Mr Afzal
